First Majority leader of the National Assembly of Kenya Replaced
Aden Bare Duale, the immediate formerly majority leader of the national assembly of Kenya under the Jubilee Party, was replaced by Dr. Amos Kimunya following a decision made the party’s parliamentary group meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Duale’s ouster followed a petition from more than one hundred and thirty members of parliament who accused him of sabotaging the Jubilee agenda.
During the group meeting, the president said he was creating harmony in the party and wanted to work with those supporting him.
Duale accused of being disrespectful and hypocritical according to sources privy to the ongoings in the jubilee party house. News sources indicated that though Aden Duale enjoyed a cordial relationship with the two Jubilee principals, the president, and his deputy, he is alleged to have helped in mobilizing senators allied to Deputy President to boycott the president’s meeting at State House.
Fatuma Gedi, a fierce critic of Duale and Wajir women representative, claims that Duale has been abusing and disrespecting the president.
Duale was accused of working at cross purposes with the president. He is accused of being too close with Deputy President William Ruto, whose relationship with President Kenyatta is not good.
Although Duale has his shortfalls, his performance is honestly excellent.
Duale had shown dedication in serving the country as house majority leader.
From 2013 to 2020, Duale was able to process the list of the majority party effectively. He oversaw the passage of more than two hundred bills and five hundred motions.
During his service, he was able to ensure that all the bills for implementation of the constitution, financial legislation to implement devolution, and services to the people of Kenya were implemented as well as bills to implement the big four agenda. Duale worked well and delivered to the people of Kenya as required.
Duale was among the highest-ranking members of the Somali community in government. He had massive support from the leaders and people of North Eastern, said Mohamed Mohamud, current senator for Mandera county.
Duale has been the majority leader since 2013 and was loyal to both Jubilee Party and President Uhuru Kenyatta. According to Hassan Aden, he has sacrificed a lot for the party and the government.
Residents of Duale’s constituency said their MP served the people of Garissa with all his heart and did not deserve to be replaced. Despite the many critics and shortfalls, Adan Duale has had his brighter side and achievements.
